How to get there
The festival is on the small Koh Chang island in Ranong province — not the famous big Koh Chang near the Cambodian border.
Before you travel
Visa. Check the conditions for your citizenship with the Thai consulate / embassy website.
Insurance. We recommend travel insurance for your stay — inexpensive and well worth it.
Flights. Look for cheap flights on aggregators such as Skyscanner, or ask us for advice.
From Bangkok to Ranong
By plane. Nok Air and AirAsia fly from Don Mueang Airport to Ranong (AirAsia daily). Leave at least 4 hours for connections, as international flights use Suvarnabhumi. Ranong airport is 23 km from the pier — take a taxi, bus or songteo.
By bus. Several buses a day from Bangkok’s Southern Bus Station (Sai Tai Mai), mostly departing 20:00–22:00. First class ~500 baht, VIP ~700 baht. The ride is 9–10 hours.
By train. The closest station is Chumphon (daily train #85 from Bangkok, 19:30), then a 2-hour bus to Ranong.
From Ranong to Koh Chang
It is 10–15 minutes from the bus terminal to the pier — take a taxi or the blue songteo №6.
- Long-tail boats twice a day (9:30 and 14:00), 200 baht, ~1.5 hours.
- Speedboats at 9:00, 11:30 and 13:30, 350 baht, ~30 minutes.
- Return slow boat 8:30 & 13:00; speedboat 9:30, 13:30 & 15:30.
See you on Koh Chang!
